Dr. Kim Thomas Smith
Candidate for Georgia House District 117
Dr. Kim Thomas Smith is a Georgia native, raised with deep Southern roots and values centered on responsibility—when you see a need, you step in. Drawn to Henry County’s unity and small-town feel, she made it her home—and it became her calling. For decades, Kim has served Henry County through hands-on community work: coordinating volunteer programs and processing hundreds of monthly requests for rent, mortgage, and utility assistance through Samaritans Together of Henry County; supporting food distribution and family programs through Helping In His Name Ministries; and providing wellness calls to seniors through the One2One Telephone Assurance Program.
She has also mentored students and supported literacy and youth programs while organizing community safety and beautification efforts like shred events, cleanups, and recycling initiatives.
Kim earned her Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and leads with servant leadership—showing up, listening first, and building practical solutions that prioritize people.
